Etodolac 400mg + Thiocolchicoside 4mg is a pain-relief and muscle-relaxant combination used for acute painful muscle spasm, including spasm associated with back or neck pain. It addresses inflammation and muscle tightness that can restrict movement.
How to use
Swallow the tablet with water after food. It is intended for a short acute course rather than continuous maintenance treatment. Oral thiocolchicoside treatment should not exceed seven consecutive days; do not extend the course because stiffness persists.
How it works
Etodolac reduces prostaglandin formation to relieve inflammatory pain. Thiocolchicoside acts within the central nervous system to reduce painful muscle contraction.
Side effects
Nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, dizziness or sleepiness can occur. Gastrointestinal bleeding, a seizure, jaundice or severe allergic swelling needs urgent care.
Important information
Previous ulcers, kidney or heart disease and a seizure history are important before treatment. Thiocolchicoside must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or by women who could become pregnant without effective contraception. Avoid other NSAIDs and alcohol during the course.
