Itraconazole 1% w/w Soap is an antifungal cleansing preparation used as an adjunct in selected superficial fungal skin infections. A wash-off preparation is not equivalent to a leave-on cream or a systemic antifungal.
How to use
Wet the affected skin, apply the soap gently and rinse according to the product instructions. Avoid eyes and mucosal areas and do not leave a wash-off product on the skin as if it were a cream.
How it works
Local itraconazole inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis; cleansing removes surface debris but does not replace a prescribed antifungal course.
Side effects
Local burning, itching, redness, dryness or irritation can occur.
Important information
Worsening irritation, widespread disease, nail involvement or failure to improve needs reassessment. Avoid adding steroid-combination creams without a specific prescription.

Does the soap replace an antifungal cream?

Does lather show that fungus has cleared?
No. Clinical improvement and the planned treatment course matter more than lather.
Can it irritate sensitive skin?
Yes. Stop use and seek advice if burning, rash or irritation persists.
Should towels be shared?
Avoid sharing towels and keep affected areas dry to reduce spread.
Is it enough for fungal nail disease?
Not usually. Nail infection needs a suitable diagnosis and treatment approach.
What if the rash keeps spreading?
