Etodolac 600mg ER Tablets

Etodolac 600mg ER Tablets are an extended-release NSAID preparation used to relieve pain, tenderness and stiffness in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The prolonged-release system supports ongoing symptom control rather than rapid relief of a new acute pain episode.
Swallow the extended-release tablet whole with water, with or after food. Do not split, crush or chew it. This preparation is generally given once daily; it is not used on the same schedule as conventional immediate-release tablets.
Etodolac inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes and reduces prostaglandin synthesis. Lower prostaglandin activity reduces inflammatory pain and swelling.
Indigestion, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea or dizziness may occur. Black stools, vomiting blood, reduced urine, chest pain or severe allergic swelling require urgent treatment.
Tell your doctor about previous ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney disease, heart failure, high blood pressure or NSAID-sensitive asthma. Anticoagulants, steroids and some antidepressants increase bleeding risk. Avoid adding ibuprofen, naproxen or diclofenac. Pregnancy requires particular caution, especially from 20 weeks onward.
Can reduce pain and stiffness enough to improve walking, joint movement and daily function. It provides symptom control rather than disease-modifying treatment.
No. It can reduce pain and swelling, but does not replace a disease-modifying medicine such as methotrexate when one is needed to limit joint damage.
Food can reduce indigestion, but does not remove the risk of an ulcer or bleeding. Previous ulcer disease and concurrent blood thinners remain important.
Yes. NSAIDs can cause sodium and fluid retention, worsen blood pressure and reduce the effect of some diuretics or blood-pressure medicines.
They contain the same active ingredient. Combining them can unintentionally increase total exposure; the release system and full daily treatment plan must be considered together.
Avoid driving or operating machinery while dizziness, drowsiness or blurred vision is present. Alcohol can make impairment and stomach-related adverse effects more likely.
