Ciprofloxacin 0.3% 10mL Eye/Ear Drops is a local antibiotic for susceptible bacterial infections of the eyes or ears. It does not treat allergic redness or viral conjunctivitis.
How to use
Wash hands and keep the dropper tip clear of the eye, ear and fingers. For eye use, instil into the lower conjunctival pocket, close the eye gently and press near the inner corner for about one minute; separate other eye drops by at least five minutes. For ear use, lie with the treated ear facing upwards and remain in position briefly after instillation.
How it works
Inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV prevents bacterial DNA replication and repair.
Side effects
Transient burning, stinging, irritation, blurred vision or an unpleasant taste can occur.
Important information
Do not use for a non-bacterial red eye without assessment. Eye pain, light sensitivity, vision changes or a suspected corneal ulcer requires prompt review. Contact lenses should not be worn during an active eye infection.

Avoid lenses while the eye is infected and follow the eye clinician's advice about restarting.
Can I share the bottle with another person?
No. Sharing can transfer infection and contaminate the bottle.
Why might I notice a bitter taste?
Drops can drain through the tear duct; gentle eyelid closure can reduce drainage.
Can temporary blurring affect driving?
Yes. Wait until vision clears before driving or operating machinery.
What if symptoms worsen despite treatment?
Increasing pain, discharge or reduced vision requires prompt eye assessment.
Can steroid eye drops be added?
Not without an eye examination; steroids can mask or worsen some infections and corneal disorders.
