Propranolol 80mg SR Tablets

Product Introduction

Propranolol 80mg SR tablet is a non-selective beta blocker used for selected cardiovascular conditions and for migraine prevention, essential tremor and physical anxiety symptoms. It can reduce a racing heart, shaking or sweating but does not directly treat anxious thoughts or stop a migraine already underway.

How to use

Swallow the sustained-release tablet intact with water at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not crush or chew it. Conversion from conventional propranolol needs a planned regimen rather than a tablet-for-tablet substitution; avoid abrupt discontinuation.

How it works

Propranolol blocks beta-adrenergic receptors, slowing heart rate, reducing cardiac workload, and dampening adrenaline-related physical symptoms.

Side effects

Possible effects include tiredness, dizziness, slow pulse, cold hands or feet, nausea, diarrhea, sleep disturbance, and vivid dreams. Serious concerns include bronchospasm, severe bradycardia, heart block, worsening heart failure, severe low blood pressure, masking hypoglycemia, and allergic reaction.

Important information

Tell your doctor about asthma or COPD, a slow pulse, heart block, heart failure, diabetes, poor peripheral circulation, depression, thyroid disease or kidney or liver problems. Mention pregnancy, breastfeeding, alcohol, calcium-channel blockers, antiarrhythmics, clonidine, insulin and other medicines that can cause low blood sugar.
