Perindopril Erbumine 4mg Tablets

Product Introduction

Perindopril Erbumine 4mg is an ACE inhibitor used for high blood pressure, selected heart-failure regimens and reduction of cardiac events in appropriate patients with stable coronary disease. It lowers vascular resistance and reduces cardiac workload.

How to use

Take in the morning before a meal with water, because food reduces conversion to the active metabolite. Kidney function and potassium are checked after starting or increasing treatment. Initial dizziness is more likely with dehydration or diuretic use.

How it works

Perindopril is converted to perindoprilat, which inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme. Reduced angiotensin II and aldosterone activity relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.

Side effects

Dry cough, dizziness, headache, low blood pressure and increased potassium can occur. Lip, tongue or throat swelling requires emergency care.

Important information

Pregnancy, previous ACE-inhibitor angioedema and significant renal artery narrowing are important exclusions. Potassium supplements, NSAIDs and other renin-angiotensin medicines can increase risk. Sacubitril/valsartan requires a planned washout before or after an ACE inhibitor.
