Product Introduction

Azithromycin 500mg is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It may be prescribed for infections of the respiratory tract, throat, sinus, ear, skin and soft tissue, and selected sexually transmitted infections. It works by stopping bacterial growth, which helps the body clear the infection and improve symptoms such as fever, pain, swelling, cough, or breathing discomfort depending on the infection site. Azithromycin does not work for viral infections such as cold or flu. Take the full course exactly as prescribed, even if symptoms improve early, because stopping too soon can make the infection return or worsen and may contribute to antibiotic resistance.

How to use

Complete the antibiotic course and seek care for allergy symptoms or severe diarrhoea. Swallow tablets whole with water. It may usually be taken with or without food. Do not skip doses and complete the full course.

Important information

Use antibiotics only for bacterial infections and only as prescribed. Do not share leftover tablets. Tell the doctor about liver disease, heart rhythm problems, low potassium or magnesium, myasthenia gravis, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and all current medicines.
