Product Introduction
Triamcinolone Acetonide Paste 0.1% is a topical oral corticosteroid paste used for temporary relief of inflammatory or ulcerative lesions inside the mouth for triamcinolone treatment. It forms an adhesive layer over the affected mucosal area and reduces local inflammation, pain, redness, and swelling. It is commonly used for aphthous-type ulcers or traumatic oral inflammatory lesions after a clinician has considered the cause. It should not be used on untreated fungal, bacterial, or viral mouth infections because steroids can worsen or mask infection. Avoid eating or drinking immediately after application when possible so the paste can remain in contact with the lesion. Persistent ulcers, recurrent unexplained sores, fever, spreading white patches, bleeding, hard lumps, or lesions lasting more than two weeks need dental or medical review.
How to use
Apply a small amount of Triamcinolone Acetonide Paste 0.1% directly to the mouth lesion as prescribed, usually after meals and at bedtime. Do not rub hard or swallow intentionally.
How it works
Triamcinolone reduces local inflammatory mediator activity in oral mucosa, helping decrease pain, swelling, and redness.
Common side effects
Possible effects include local irritation, dryness, taste change, burning, delayed healing, and oral thrush. Serious concerns include worsening infection, allergic reaction, or persistent unexplained mouth lesions.
Important information
Review oral thrush, herpes sores, bacterial infection, dental trauma, recurrent ulcers, diabetes, immune suppression, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and lesions lasting more than two weeks.
