Product Introduction
Celecoxib 100mg is a selective COX-2 non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to reduce pain and inflammation. It may be prescribed for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute pain, and menstrual pain depending on the patient and local approval. This does not remove gastrointestinal risk, and serious bleeding or ulcer complications can still occur. Celecoxib also carries NSAID cardiovascular warnings, including increased risk of heart attack or stroke, especially with higher doses, longer use, prior heart disease, or use after coronary bypass surgery.
How to use
Take Celecoxib 100mg exactly as prescribed. It may be taken with or without food, but food can reduce stomach upset. Do not combine with other NSAIDs unless advised. Avoid using more or longer than prescribed.
How it works
Celecoxib selectively inhibits COX-2, an enzyme involved in making inflammatory prostaglandins. Lower prostaglandin levels reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation.
Common side effects
Possible effects include indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, gas, dizziness, swelling, raised blood pressure, and respiratory symptoms. Serious warning signs include chest pain, weakness on one side, black stools, vomiting blood, severe stomach pain, reduced urination, severe rash, or swelling of face/throat.
Important information
Avoid use after coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Discuss use in heart disease, stroke risk, ulcer or bleeding history, kidney/liver disease, high blood pressure, asthma, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and use with blood thinners, aspirin, steroids, SSRIs/SNRIs, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, diuretics, or lithium.
Uses
Pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute pain, and primary dysmenorrhea when prescribed.
Benefits
Reduces inflammatory pain and swelling while offering COX-2 selectivity, which may be useful for selected patients when NSAID risks are reviewed.
What is Celecoxib 100mg used for?
Celecoxib 100mg is used for pain and inflammation in arthritis and selected acute-pain conditions when prescribed.

No. Celecoxib is not a narcotic or habit-forming pain medicine.

Yes. COX-2 selectivity may reduce some stomach irritation, but ulcers and bleeding can still occur.
Can Celecoxib 100mg be taken with ibuprofen?
Do not combine NSAIDs unless the prescriber advises it, because side-effect risk rises.
What warning symptoms need urgent care?
