Product Introduction

Atomoxetine 10mg is a non-stimulant medicine used for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and can help improve attention, impulse control, and hyperactivity symptoms as part of a broader ADHD management plan that may include behavioural, educational, sleep, and routine-based support.

How to use

Take Atomoxetine 10mg exactly as prescribed, usually once daily in the morning or split between morning and late afternoon/evening if directed. It can be taken with or without food. Do not open capsules unless a clinician gives specific instructions; atomoxetine powder can irritate the eyes. Do not stop or change dose without review.

How it works

Atomoxetine selectively increases norepinephrine signalling by blocking norepinephrine reuptake. This supports attention and impulse-control pathways without being a traditional stimulant.

Common side effects

Possible side effects include nausea, reduced appetite, stomach pain, vomiting, dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, sleepiness, insomnia, tiredness, sweating, mood changes, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and sexual side effects in adults. Serious concerns include suicidal thoughts, liver injury, severe allergy, fainting, chest pain, urinary retention, or severe mood/behaviour change.

Important information

Do not use with MAO inhibitors or within the required washout period. Use caution in heart disease, high blood pressure, fast pulse, glaucoma, liver disease, bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and strong CYP2D6 inhibitor use. Monitor growth, appetite, mood, BP, and pulse in children and adolescents.
