Product Introduction

Amoxicillin 250mg is a penicillin-class antibiotic used for susceptible bacterial infections such as ear, sinus, throat, dental, respiratory, urinary, and skin infections for amoxicillin treatment. It works by interfering with bacterial cell-wall synthesis. It should be used only for likely or confirmed bacterial infection because unnecessary use promotes resistance and will not treat viral colds or flu.

How to use

Take Amoxicillin 250mg for the full prescribed course. It may be taken with food if stomach upset occurs.

How it works

Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell-wall synthesis, weakening susceptible bacteria and allowing infection control.

Common side effects

Possible effects include nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, rash, and yeast overgrowth. Serious concerns include severe allergy, blistering rash, C. difficile diarrhoea, liver problems, and blood-count changes.

Important information

Review penicillin or cephalosporin allergy, kidney disease, mononucleosis, pregnancy, breastfeeding, warfarin, methotrexate, culture results, and severe diarrhoea history.
