Quetiapine is an atypical antipsychotic used for schizophrenia and selected bipolar-disorder treatment settings. A low-strength tablet should not be described as an ordinary sleeping pill.
How to use
Take the immediate-release tablet on the prescribed schedule, with or without food. Initial titration and changes between immediate- and extended-release products require a treatment plan; avoid abrupt discontinuation.

Effects on dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors modify signalling involved in psychosis and mood symptoms.
Side effects
Sleepiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, weight gain and postural hypotension can occur.
Important information
Monitor weight, glucose and lipids. Tell your doctor about cardiac disease, seizure history and other sedatives; older adults with dementia-related psychosis have increased mortality risk with antipsychotics.
