Product Introduction

Naltrexone 1.5mg is an opioid antagonist used mainly for alcohol-use disorder and opioid-use disorder relapse prevention for naltrexone treatment. It blocks opioid receptors, reducing opioid effects and helping reduce alcohol craving or reward in selected treatment plans. It is not a pain medicine, not an opioid substitute, and not a treatment for acute opioid withdrawal. Patients must be opioid-free before starting, including tramadol and many opioid cough, diarrhea, or pain medicines, because naltrexone can trigger sudden withdrawal in opioid-dependent people. It also blocks opioid pain medicines, so emergency and planned surgery teams must know the patient is taking it. Trying to overcome the opioid-blocking effect by taking large opioid doses can cause fatal overdose, and overdose risk is also higher after stopping because opioid tolerance may be reduced. Report jaundice, dark urine, severe abdominal pain, depression, suicidal thoughts, or opioid-withdrawal symptoms promptly.

How to use

Take Naltrexone 1.5mg exactly as prescribed as part of a treatment program. Do not start unless opioid-free as directed. Carry medical information noting naltrexone use in case pain treatment is needed.
