Diclofenac 100mg Suppositories

Product Introduction

Diclofenac 100mg is a rectal NSAID suppository used for pain and inflammation for rectal treatment, such as when swallowing medicine is difficult or after certain procedures. Diclofenac reduces prostaglandin production, helping relieve pain, swelling, stiffness, and feverish inflammatory discomfort. Suppositories avoid swallowing tablets but they do not remove NSAID risks.

How to use

Use Diclofenac 100mg rectally as prescribed, ideally after bowel movement. Wash hands before and after use. Do not swallow the suppository. Avoid using with other NSAIDs unless the prescriber confirms it is safe.

How it works

Diclofenac inhibits COX enzymes, reducing prostaglandins that drive pain, inflammation, swelling, and fever.

Common side effects

Possible effects include rectal irritation, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhoea, indigestion, dizziness, headache, rash, and fluid retention. Serious warning signs include black stools, vomiting blood, chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe wheezing, reduced urination, severe rash, or allergic swelling.

Important information

Review use in stomach ulcer or bleeding history, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, kidney/liver disease, asthma sensitive to NSAIDs, inflammatory bowel disease, anticoagulants, antiplatelets, steroids, SSRIs/SNRIs, pregnancy, and breastfeeding.
