Azithromycin oral suspension is a macrolide antibiotic for susceptible bacterial infections, including selected respiratory, ear and skin infections. The liquid presentation allows measured dosing when tablets are unsuitable.
How to use
Shake before each dose and measure with an oral syringe. Immediate-release suspension may be taken with or without food. Reconstitute and discard according to this product's instructions; bottle volume alone does not establish the dose.
How it works
Binding to the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit inhibits protein synthesis and limits susceptible bacterial growth.
Side effects
Diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting can occur.
Important information
Tell your doctor about previous macrolide-related liver injury, QT prolongation, low potassium or magnesium, myasthenia gravis and interacting medicines.
