Veterinary formulations and animal species

Veterinary medicines are selected for the animal species, condition and route of administration. A medicine suitable for one species may not be appropriate for another. The formulation, concentration and pack label matter as well as the active ingredient.

For an injection, distinguish the concentration in mg/mL from the total volume in the vial. For food-producing animals, confirm the label requirements and withdrawal period with the veterinarian. Product listing does not establish authorisation for every species or destination.

Can a veterinary product be selected by ingredient name alone?

No. The veterinarian must consider the species, formulation, concentration and intended use. Human and veterinary packs should not be assumed equivalent.

For an enquiry, include the product name, strength, dosage form, pack quantity and destination country. Send a product enquiry or read about export documentation support.
