Share the exact product, your role and destination so availability, prescription or licence requirements, and supporting documents can be reviewed together.
Start with the product label
Share the exact medicine, manufacturer, presentation and labelled storage conditions. Temperature-sensitive does not mean that every medicine has the same temperature range. Product-specific instructions must guide the assessment, including any protection from freezing, heat or light.
Confirm the route before ordering
Discuss the origin, destination, expected transit time, customs handovers and receiving arrangements. Ask whether a suitable temperature-controlled route, qualified packaging and any required monitoring can be provided for that specific shipment. An enquiry or quotation alone is not confirmation of a validated cold-chain service.
Agree monitoring and handover records
Where temperature monitoring is required, clarify the device, monitoring period, access to records and responsible person for reviewing any excursion. Agree the delivery handover and suitable receiving storage before dispatch. Carrier tracking does not by itself demonstrate that temperature conditions were maintained.
Product and route limitation
Cold-chain availability depends on the product, route, packaging, carrier and destination requirements. Do not confirm an order until the handling plan and responsibilities have been checked. Global Medicines Export does not promise a universal cold-chain route or temperature range for every listed product.
Do all temperature-sensitive medicines use the same range?
No. Use the exact manufacturer-labelled conditions for the product and presentation. Do not apply a single refrigerator temperature range to every medicine.
Is a tracking number proof that cold-chain conditions were maintained?
No. Shipment tracking shows transport events. Temperature-control evidence depends on the agreed packaging, route, monitoring records and review of any deviations.
